Resources beyond measure - 1 Chronicles 22:14
1 Chronicles 22:14 – “I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the Lord a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them. You have many workmen: stonecutters, masons and carpenters, as well as men skilled in every kind of work in gold and silver, bronze and iron-craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and the Lord be with you.”
I can picture Solomon on the first day on the job with the construction of the temple… A young fella, a little nervus about the task before him as a few had doubted his ability to build this temple. But luckily David/dad had ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son.
But the question is; are they on his side?
Will they respect his decisions?
Can you imagine what Solomon saw before him that first day?
David had given Solomon everything for the task and more. Before him from his left side started the first pile of construction material- Gold 3750 tons of it. Then the next pile, silver-37,500 tons, and if you thought those piles were big, the piles of bronze and iron were so big they couldn’t weigh them…and then there was still wood and stone.
But it didn’t stop there… If you thought sorting through those piles of materials were overwhelming, the next thing Solomon had to face was the sea of people his father had employed, craftsmen beyond number who were waiting for his command.
I can hear one little line going through Solomon’s head – “Thanks dad, this is the best birthday present ever.”
Think about this; If David, Solomon’s earthly Dad had provided all this to Solomon for the task he was given, imagine what our heavenly father has given us for the task we have been asked to do.
We have been given resources beyond measure and people further then the eye can see. The hard task is knowing how to direct or make use wisely all we have been given.
All I can offer is the wise words of David to Solomon. V19 “Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God and begin to build.”
Go for it and know your heavenly father has given you all you need.

I think this is SO true.
Often when I’m feeling overwhelmed I take great comfort in knowing that “God won’t give me anything I can’t handle” and this is similar.
“God has given me everything I need”, so I KNOW that I can do it. Even if it seems hard.
